Midland & 30,000 Islands

We had been delaying our trip to Lake Huron (Ontario, Canada) for a few weeks, but on the Thanksgiving long weekend the weather finally declared the beginning of Indian Summer and I recharged butteries for my camera. We made a reservation in Super 8, a nice new motel motel in Midland - a small town located on Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada

Florence

The Duomo (The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore) – one of the most magnificent architectural creations I have seen. The church exterior is decorated with the white, green and pink marble in very original Florentine style that can’t be found anywhere else, as far as I know. The Duomo had been built in 1296-1436.
The building is enormous. It occupies many blokes of the city and rises over all of the buildings as Gulliver surrounded by lilliputs. 4 million bricks were used in the construction.
Find people on the next pictures to get the scale of the place.

Holiday in Rome, Part 1

We crossed the Atlantic Ocean landing in Rome, dropped our luggage at the hotel, had a quick bite at the quite restaurant around the corner, and began our 6 day journey in the city of 2700 years of history.
The hotel was only 10 minutes walk to St. Peter’s Basilica, a great door to Vatican. A beautiful view was opening on the basilica from the Cavour bridge.
